It's going to be super cold.

It's now -2 degrees here,at 12:45 a.m.,wind is still blowing like a Hurricane, but stars are visible tho. After some inspections of our outside German Shepherds,we decided to move them all inside the house. We have swinging doors that allows them to go outside in the runs and snow was blowing so hard many of them had frozen snow on them,as well as their inner coats was wet. Inner coats becoming wet with temps expected to drop another 12 degrees isn't good. Have I mentioned that German Shepherds are thee ONLY kind of dog to own?? Really tho,for what we have invested in ours,we had the extra kennels that we brought inside,so only 2 dogs are running loose but we do have to be on our toes when we take turns letting them out for pee breaks. One is in our daughters bedroom, one is in the laundry room, one is in our bedroom,3 are all in crates in our back family room We have an old alpha female Yana, and our older breeding male Yukon, both rules their respective roosts, and our new young breeding male isn't afriad of anything either.I failed to mention we also have a house cat, declawed and nuetered, and some of these dogs would love a furr appetizer consisting of feline.

Gosh Frenchy, that is hard, i feed my young dogs separate cause the alfa male will gather up all the chickens i put out and guard the pile, but i can not imagine them all being in the house and having to juggle them around for potty breaks

We are at 25 degrees and rain is coming again in 2 days, figures the forms are suppose to go up tomorrow for the slab and it will be to wet to get the concrete trucks back there without rutting up the ground or getting stuck

The rain has kept us from getting started on the first now it looks like it is gonna be another week

I am starting to think god is sending us a message, cause he keeps putting stuff in our way that has stopped us from building for going on 3 years now.

How are things going there?

It's now a warm -14 degrees outside. They were saying on a local radio station if you take a glass of water and throw it upwards,it will freeze before hitting the ground. We just got done doing the first dog juggle for outside duties, all went well although our two youngest ones,Karleigh and Kahn are not very used to being inside a crate or going into one for that matter. Schools been cancelled so wife is home today and daughter's college doesn't start again until next week so dogs is a group effort.I can't get out the lane to go to work, but until it stops blowing I'm not having it plowed out. I have yet to venture out and check the peas to see how they all fared thru the first nite of what seems maybe 2 more super cold ones. Zaz,I may get some pics for you if the camera don't freeze up.

I put up a heat lamp in the peas shelter yesterday. It isn't really that cold, but I figure Snow White will appreciate some extra heat. She has been looking cold.

Anyways I checked on the light today to make sure it was still positioned correctly and I was wondering if they actually roosted in their shelter last night, and I saw some fresh poop on top of the nest box which is under one of the roosts so I figured someone did roost there last night, but when I got closer it looked like coon poop. Then I noticed that in every single nest box there was a pile of raccoon poop and some of it was moldy meaning that it has been there for a while and I just hadn't noticed until now!!! UHHHH!!!!!! Well, now that I have learned how to program trail cameras, I am going to put one up in the pen. I don't know if we have any available cameras right now though because we have several on some food plots. Man I need to hurry up and build those new pens so we can put some hot wire around everything. I guess for now the coon is just eating left over bird food?
