It's going to be super cold.

Feel your pain! I have been outside all I can because bad weather is heading our way. All of my peacocks were out strutting this afternoon, they have no idea there will be around a 25 to 39 degree drop. Ice and snow are looking like a certain. Probably hit you Margaret8 before it gets to me. Wrap up and stay warm everyone.

We are right on the line so we are going to get ice first then snow!!! My birds are all locked up with a heat lamp!! :(

Sorry gang,,did you miss me? My mom down in Corinth Mississippi had a heart attack last Sunday while at work.Good thing she works in the local Hospital or they say she would not be alive today. She had a two vein transplant on Tuesday and got out of the hospital yesterday. My sister and niece are down there now(my sis is a Registered Nurse) so me and my daughter plan on heading down there Friday or Saturday and stay 3-4 days and get out of this cold and snow.
My mom wanted me to bring her down a trio of peacocks last summer if I came down there but we never made the trip. Since I am planning on going there now I asked her about bring her a trio and building her a pen while I'm there. She is so down now she says she don't think she could enjoy them. I wanted to bring her a BSSP male and a Bronze hen and Opal hen. Maybe she will change her mind by Friday. Oh well the 8" of snow prediction for our area last nite missed us and only dropped about 5" of snow. But it's supposed to get cold again at nite, down to zero again.
I hate the cold.

Looking at six to eight inches, blowing, drifting, and a high of 2 this afternoon. Down to -7 tonight. Even the ducks on the creek are cold, went down to feed them and my tracks were gone before I could trudge back to the barn. Turkeys don't seem to mind being outside, the peas, guineas, chickens are all staying inside the coop. Threw some more wood in the wood boiler and came back inside, I'm done.

I was just thinking today that we had not heard from you in a while! I am so glad that your mom is ok! I speak from experience she will get a lot better. I have 2 stints and a pacemaker, and I had a stroke 4 years ago. I had to retire from AT&T . The only thing still wrong with me is my fine motor skills are very slightly impaired. At first I had along way to go, but now I'm fine. I was used to being busy so I threw myself into gardening, and last year I got my birds. I can't think of better rehab! She may not feel like it at first, but believe it or not if she wanted to do it once she will again! So bring her the birds, but make sure she has someone to help her until she feels better!
