Been dry here... Hills are turning brown already.![]()
Yikes! We're getting rain almost everyday. Our snow fall was huge this year and hopefully enough to keep water flowing through August. We had a horrible damaging hail storm and in 15 minutes they say the hail amounted to 3 inches of water ! Good for the earth, bad for our new car :/
Zaz,we've had over 3.5" of rain here this week, sun has not been out since last Sunday, water sitting everywhere and newly planted corn and soybeans are under water in the low spots. Tomorrow I'm going to have to rebed some of the pea pens with more grass hay otherwise the males trains will have mudballs on the ends. Furnace is running now too, using up some of that high priced LP gas from the past winter. Got 10 eggs last night and 12 tonight and the girls didn't lay them in the corners as usual where water is sitting tonight. Even got 2 from ole Thangs pen.
I just started planting garden 3 weeks ago, tomatoes looks great,as does the brocolli and peppers. green beans just came up too and another row was planted before the rain. I hope we don't get a frost, hate to start a garden over again this late. Even got a super long row of collard greens planted but none up yet. I do think tomorrow while it's so wet I'm going to cut off some austree limbs and transplant them. Those are the willow hybrids I planted around Pea Palace about 4 years ago, they love water.
