Can't wait to see how you set the inside up!

Dawn

I have a Morgan shed which is much like that, and ended up putting in insulated sheets that have a radiant barrier facing towards the studs (and nothing in between the sheet and the metal building, so the heat is not conducted). For me (here in Dallas) that brought the high temps in September down to ambient temps; before I had done that, I was getting temps 10-15 degrees hotter than ambient.

I will need to add more ventilation come spring time....

That was the one thing that concerned me , the heat. It does get hot here. I added the extra windows, and the vents at both ends at the top. Im hoping that will be enough. The one door will be open all day so they can come and go; it will be closed up at night. Im hoping it won't be horribly hot. If it is, Ill have to figure out something else to do.

What a nice Christmas present you got there halo. How many chickens do or will you have in it? They will definately enjoy it. It's fun building the nest boxes and roosts for your chickens, and they will appreciate the room.

I somehow ended up with an order of 40 or so coming from Murray Mc...Im not sure how that happened, I was just going to order 25.....my brain got fuzzy after I looked at the catalog, and made the call to Murray....I blanked out after that

It's really hard to stop, once you get that order started!

I was looking at your coop and thinking it would be really nice, when it's hot, if you could have a big, sturdy screen door at one end, made out of hardware cloth. If you didn't need to use it as a door very often, since you have two doors, you could even just have it installed like a big window screen that's bolted to the wall. That would give you lots of airflow! It wouldn't be very hard to do, either.

Hi, I live north of Tampa in Spring Hill. I think us Floridians all have the same problem , and its not snow and sub zero temps!
The only way I could reduce the shed from 100 degrees was to open it all up, and put fans in. Otherwise, they did fine outside in the shade. Now I have a run with some shade screen material so that their run is mostly in the shade. The material is privacy screen material that I got at Lowe's.

your dogs are adorable.

if you wake up in the morning and your house is gone, um, i stole it. no forwarding address either. lock it down tight, i'm sneaky.
