It's offical I am the worst Hatcher

They were shrink wrapped from the humidity being to low. I keep my humidity between 50 and 60 and raise it on day 3 for hatching. When I raise it, I try to bring it up between 60 and 70.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't Little Giants a hard bator to regulate? It seems I've heard some people have had trouble with them.

So let's put our heads together! I have the LG still air, and I am tilting the incubator instead of opening to turn the eggs, so essentially the same as a turner.

I had been running the humidity during growth at 30-35%. I am running the temp between 102-103F. I have followed strict lockdown rules adding moisture to washcloths, sponges, bowls, paper egg cartons, anything I can think of to get the humidity up to 50-60% from day 18-hatch.

Unfortunately these are all shipped eggs as I have no grown chickens.

So.. for the next set which comes off 6/22 I normally candle at day 14-15 to get rid of the clears. I'll separate out the eggs into 2 batches (from 2 separate sellers). 1/2 from each seller to the mist section, 1/2 to the no misting section. Let's say day 18/19 mist once a day. Day 20/21 once or twice a day. Keep the general humidity to 60%?

Whaddya say?

I have 2 of them and as everyone, they are about the same. Once I get mine set, it is fine. I do not think the incubator screws up, I think it pretty much lies on the operator and the eggs themselves.

But everyone has the right to their opinion and I actually like my giants and have hatched numerous chicks out over the 3 years.

This is my opinion too. If you can grow the chick, it's on me if it doesn't hatch, means I've messed up somewhere... (but believe me you can get flamed pretty bad for saying this... ask me how I know... ) It's the figuring it out that is so painful!!!

I agree humidity too low... on my side this time...

Why are you tilting and not just rolling the eggs? How do you keep the water in when tilting? It would seem to me that you would have less humidity without the water.

As for temp, I run my still air between 101 and 102, I never want it at 103. All of my eggs hatch, unless they are shipped. Why are you running it at 103?

103 temp with a low humidity will cause the chicks to be shrink wrapped inside the shell and unable to zip the egg and get out. Just my opinion and experience.

I am in florida and havent had to really add water the humidity reading's are around 30 to 45% humidity...With the plugs out I have my plugs out 1-18...

I place my eggs in egg cartons and tilt my bator. I do not use the water rings in the bottom of the bator. I use a small container to put water in and it holds my humidity level with no problems at all. I'm getting good hatch rates....shipped eggs included.

it took me 5 trys to get eggs to hatch and now Im hatching around 100 at a time keep trying
