Do you have a medical thermometer? The kind you check for a human fever with?

These are usually accurate and you can compare it with your thermometers and see where they stand.

I would be willing to bet the one you bought is more nearly correct.

I don't think that averaging the two that you have is a good idea. You really need to know what is right.

I am a relative newby and I have been killing eggs right and left so I always hesitate to answer a question for I am learning...

Catherine

Thanks!

Yay 3 chickens!!!

Soooooo glad to hear from you. So glad your eggs were infertile (as opposed to having dead chicks). I sooooooo hate that moment of breaking the eggs to find out what happened, and get sooooooo relieved when they are infertile.

Where are you?? I have 15 roos. Will be happy to share one with you!!

Hope you have a GREAT DAY!! Sounds like you already did.... sorta.

Yeah. It is better than what I just did, which is breaking open the egg to find out what happened, and finding a LIVE chick in there.

I am a murderer.

Did you crack the egg completely open or just peel the shell from the air sac end?

If you had just peeled the shell you could have wrapped the egg, leaving beak area open and it may have hatched.
