It's official....

YOU HAD CDs??

Yep... I had CD's... imagine that... Maybe I'm no spring chicken, but I guess I'm not that old.
I also remember records and cassette tapes though.

And EM.... I could play that on the piano. I'd play it for you, but I forgot how (old-timers????)

I have been guilty of dancing around the room to that song and singing loudly. Often. Everytime I hear it.

I know, any "cool" image I had is now gone...

My friend just told me her child returned from college with a tatoo that matches the character 'Tank' in the movie, 'Surf's Up'.

Everything goes out of style, and everything comes back.

BUT....

I saw a very funny cartoon once.

Two older very fashionable ladies are meeting for lunch in a swank bistro.

One sits down wearing a 'flapper' dress.

She explains to her friend, 'The 'Twenties' are back'.

Her friend says,

'Not yours'.

"I know, any "cool" image I had is now gone, "the lady said.

Poor Em...still trying to be "cool" at her age.

It's called denial, Em. It's a phase old people go through.

Owl City is not exactly weird.
OK....not one of my faves though

this is coming from the 'older-than-Em-lady' that is entirely too old to listen to that or to hip-hop too.

ETA: Back in my day, summer of 69 was a song by Bryan Adams

I absolutely LOVE the song!

I think I'm the only person my age who's ever heard of it

Well, they play that song on the "oldies" station here now.

DH is now really wondering what's going to happen when Nirvana is in the "oldies" age for the station.

The boys have buzz cuts for summer, and usually keep 'em all year. The girls have long hair, but that's ok.

Pants on the ground get threatened to have DH get his electric staple gun out to make sure those pants stay up. A shirt should not be long enough to be a modest dress.

Can't say I have any advice on the music, given as I listen to music such as Rob Zombie by choice. My kids do NOT listen to the whiny teeny bopper crap.
