This is mostly directed to the new backyard chicken keepers: I stumbled across an ad for my local farm store and they are having a big, get ready for winter sale. This is my first year with my little flock and I am excited to be able to save a few dollars on supplies. However it made me think of making sure I can feed my wee ones through snowy nor'easters and power failures. We have some wicked bad winters here in New England so I plan to stock up before the white stuff arrives. Just a thought!

Always a good idea to keep plenty of feed on hand in the winter...for birds and people! :D We get enough snow & bad weather, I don't like to go out if it's not necessary.
