Judging by my nutters choosing to sit in/on the smallest boxes I would say they think it is the other way around.

Casper doesn't do that so much (that box is the smallest thing I've seen him get into), but my last cat, Keiko, sure did! She was a BIG white cat and she'd try to curl up in the smallest boxes or baskets, or even in your shoes!

My guy just decided to race across the house to me like there was an emergency, but I guess all it was was a sudden and pressing need to curl up and sleep on the couch next to me.
