It's time for me to admit I have a problem...

Pics
Socks, typical tux name. Also, it's unwise to move a sleeping cat... still traumatised from trying to move my childhood cat.
This is King. We adopted him from a shelter at 12 weeks old and his little bio said "we encourage you to try keep him inside for the first month of taking him home so he does not get lost when you release him". As apposed to all the other cats that said "in door only". Well here we are 5 years later, he still is not house trained, and definetly would much prefer to be outdoors, but even the rains got him camped up insideView attachment 3057179

Aw, I think Socks is a cute name! And very fitting!

Y'all must be getting drenched over there! Is that typical for Australian autumns? This is the rainy season (AKA mud season) for us, too, but it hasn't been too bad. Last year, it started raining in the spring and didn't stop until half way through summer. It was truly miserable!

Nice thing about Casper is that he doesn't seem to be bothered if you move him around. He just looks around to see what's going on, and then goes right back to sleep once you're done moving him. My mom has carried him all the way across the room to me when she's needed to get up and he was on her lap, and he settles right in and goes back to sleep without a fuss. I guess that means I really could have moved him without worry the other night, but I mean, come on, just look at him in that picture! :love

For where we are it is normal this time of year. As my old boss use to describe it, "wet enough to bog a duck" :lau. None of my ducks are bogged yet so maybe there's still more rain to come. Casper is a sweet heart ❤ it may just be a domestic short hair thing to be cranky when woken

Haha, I love it! Here's hoping your ducks remain un-bogged. :p Whenever we get a lot of rain, I like to say that the weather's been for the ducks. I feel like last year could have bogged a duck here, though, because it was insane!

My family has had a few cranky shorthairs over the years, and Casper's our first experience with a longhair, so maybe that is it! Right now, we have an old, old, old DSH tabby who stays in one room of the house because she's not very mobile anymore, and she's definitely what I'd classify as cranky. Gotta give her some leeway, though, because if her age estimate was correct when we got her, she's in her mid twenties now. :th

Anyway, I was busy outside most of yesterday getting some things done with the chickens, but here's our handsome boy sitting in the window when I came in to turn the eggs midday. :love

Do you have a photo of miss cranky pants? I love old cats that look as old as time.

I didn't have any recent ones, but I went and grabbed some, reminding me of why I don't take many pictures of her. She will not sit still if she thinks there's attention to be had, and she's not afraid to get the claws out to make sure she gets that attention. 😬 This is miss Gabby the crabby tabby :p

Ooo yes the days are warming up for you and time to get back out with the chickens. How is Casper handling less attention?

Oh, he's managing, though I'm not sure how, the poor darling. 😩

...Actually, he's a well-loved cat, whether I'm around or not. My mom loves him, too, and my niece absolutely adores him, and generally if I'm not here at least one of them is. 😊

He does look quite accusingly at me when I come back inside and no one else has been around, though! 🤣

Stella just woke up, and her back of ear floors are standing up. 😂
