It's time for me to admit I have a problem...

Pics
He's destroyed his box and he looks pretty pleased with himself for it 🤭

What breed is Casper? I have a lavender or blue siamese. Her name is Destiny but we call her Desi for short. I will find some pics

Casper came wandering out of the woods one day without any papers or anything, so if he is a pure breed, I don't know which. 🤣 A lot of people think he's part or full Ragdoll, and he is very soft like one and has a lot of the personality traits like one, but doesn't seem fluffy enough to be one, at least in my opinion. Without documents or a DNA test (which I can't afford at the moment), all I can responsibly say is he's a blue point domestic longhair. 🙂

She is beautiful! :love As for having a problem, please note that I have a 46-page-long thread full of Casper pictures and the ones I've posted aren't even a fraction of the ones I've taken of him. 🤣 Welcome to the can't-stop-taking-pictures-of-my-cat club!

Nice that you rescued him, my desi was found wandering in our neighborhood but nobody came for her so we kept her

Ah, very similar to Cappy! I left his description at the local shelter, had him checked for a microchip, checked for lost cat ads every day, and no one was looking for him. It's sadly quite common for cats to be dumped in my area, so it's a possibility that's what happened to him as well.

Seems like the best cats I've known have been rescues. My last cat, the late and great Keiko, was a rescue as well. I'd known her and fell in love with her when my aunt adopted her, but she ended up not able to keep her (which was a long story) and rehomed her. Turns out the place she had rehomed her to, they were allowing their child to basically torment Keiko, so this larger than life personality was spending all her time hiding under beds and behind furniture instead of living it up in comfort as she should have been. 🙁 We were thankfully able to convince them to let us take her so that she could be comfortable and adored like she deserved.

She was already an older cat when we got her (around 10 years, we never knew her exact age) and was diagnosed with diabetes a few years after we took her in, which likely compromised her already aged immune system so that she was not able to recover when she got sick despite our best efforts. We only had her for just under 5 years, but I adored her the entire time she was here, everything about her, from her shapeliness to her big personality. I still have a hard time seeing pictures of her or talking about her without getting choked up. She deserved the world after all she'd been through, and I can only hope I was able to give her a fraction of the happiness she deserved.

Casper actually showed up only 3 weeks after Keiko passed away, and I felt guilty for the longest time about letting myself fall in love with another cat so soon, I still get pangs of guilt about that. But Cappy is such a sweet boy and an amazing cat, too, and when he hits you with those big blue eyes it's hard not to fall head over heels. :love He's given me so much to smile about after the big hole that Keiko left in my heart.

Anyway, whoops, I guess that turned into a novel! I'm glad your Desi was able to find a happy home as well! ❤️
