It's trying to SNOW here!

It's snowing here...well just spitting snow but drove thru the higher mountains this morning and it was laying on the ground in places.....I'm ready for snow!!!...very windy here too......

It snowed ever so lightly this morning. Im in Ohio by the lake. The cold, maybe even a bit of sleet i can take, but this darned wind is keeping me from bow hunting!!! I want to get a deer before it starts snowing!!!

It doesn't snow here in NC all we get is ICE. The best year I had concerning snow is 2002. We went to Boone,NC to get our Christmas Tree right off the farm and it was snowing. It could not get any better than that. Boone caught it that year.

Thank goodness that wind stopped. I had to keep the barn closed up yesterday. I don't think the chickens minded that to much. It was kinda funny watching them out in the wind the night before. I let them out and their little feathers were just going crazy. All of them ran out, ate a little of the scratch I threw out for them and followed me right back in. I felt bad for them, so I put some scratch inside for them and shut the door. I think they are much happier going outside. but will deal with staying in the barn, as long as they can get out of the coop.

Holy Cow! Snow! It got down in the mid 20's here last night and I was freezing. It's not as bad tonight, I guess in the 40's. I'm not ready for snow just yet. How are all your chickens doing in this cold weather?

South West New Hampshire hasn't had any snow yet this year...but it is in the forecast for Friday! I can not wait...but I've still got to get some more modifications done to the coop...guess I've waited till the last possible minute AS USUAL!

Lots of rain, no snow where I am yet, but the mountains have gotten some. The water had ice crystals in it this morning, so won't belong now.

I have to go out every morning and pour hot water in my horses outdoor water bucket, a few days ago I did that and walked away - came back near lunch time and there was still ICE in it... I picked out all the sheets of ice and put another jug of hot water in to warm it up a little...
Both horse and chickens have heated waterers. (inside coop and barn)
My chickens seem to be just fine with the cold, they come BLASTING out when I open up in the morning, eat the cup of scratch as fast as they can, and run back into the coop!
