Sizzles aren't any different than normal frizzles. Their feathers are still soft, they just curl backwards, and mine like a good cuddle. I think you might be confusing them with breeding 2 frizzles together, which is a no no. When you breed 2 together, their feathers get brittle and break off, they can also get bald patches and not be able to keep themselves warm.
Anyway, that's not what I'm doing. I started my project by breeding a frizzled Cochin to a Silkie, and then bred the frizzled offspring to Silkies to enhance the Silkie look. I've put more than 3 years into this project, so I don't plan on quitting now![]()
Also, if you breed 2 Silkies together, you shouldn't get smooth feathered birds. The shredded feathers are recessive, and require 2 copies to show. Normal feathers in Silkies are very undesirable to breeders (though they are obviously desirable to me since I breed Sizzles).
