my second rooster was a cochin bantam, i don't have any pics of him that i can find, and the lady that we gave him to saw my mom and told her that he was taken by some varmint. about a year ago, last spring, i was so close to getting a silkie chick at the feed store when i got my BR and SLW (i got so excited and even sexed it and was sure it was a pullet) but the other two chicks were picking on it and my dad made me put her back with the other straight run banties.she would've been fine with them after one night, but he wasn't convinced and he didn't trust me saying that she was a pullet... oh well
, but my next batch of chicks is gonna have'ta include a silkie.![]()

Yes, mating is adorable when it comes to chickensSilkies are a lot of fun. I've had quite a few over the years and there's nothing quite like watching them hop their fuzzy little britches across the yard! I wish they could be more cold hardy though. My old Silkie boy is in the basement right now to ride out the weather
It's kind of fun to have them so close though. Wanna see what I caught him doing the other night? I think it's just adorable.
