Ive been robbed!!!!

Well I have a hen thats was sitting on 12 eggs and I went back out there today to check on her and there was only 10 I live in North Carolina and theres all kinds of animals that could get them, there wasnt anything left of the eggs they just dissapeared. Does anybody know what kind of animal takes the eggs and leaves nothing behind?

Snake. But egg eating chickens dont leave anything behind either.

Thanks I thought about it being a snake because a hen is setting on the eggs and she wont let any of the chickens around them.
