I'm new to raising chickens. I started six weeks ago with baby chicks.

By reading one of the threads on how to idenify the sex, I think I have 2 Ameraucana hens, 1 Ameraucana rooster and the RIR is a hen. I also have 3- three month old hens that are Columbian wyandottes.

I want to move the seven week old chicks to the coop, but I'm not sure if the 3 month olds will kill them. Any advice is appreciated. The high temperature here is 98 deg and the low is 55 deg.

Put the younger ones in a cage, large enough where they aren't cramped, and set the cage in the coop with the older ones for a few days. This will allow all of them to get used to each other. You can then let the younger ones out with the rest. The older ones will probably still pick on them a little but will soon accept them.

I have 3 guinea males in with my chickens. I didn't put them in a cage and put the cage in the coop. I just turned them loose in there. At first the chickens chased them all over the coop and run but a week later they all got along with each other.

As for the temps.....you should do some research on the breeds you have to find out how tolerant they are to the heat and cold.

Good luck with them and welcome to BYC. Lots of knowledgable folks on here and are very friendly and helpfull.
