I've got a brooding rooster.

This is what a Light Sussex rooster looks like. Notice the "saddle feathers," on the back near the tail ....

maybe try putting her in a cage with a nest & eggs for a couple of days & see if she will be happy to sit on those eggs. or if you dont have that option just a seperate nest so they dont fight over the eggs. i would think if you gave her some eggs of her own she will sit on them.
it def looks like a light sussex hen to me.
am curious to know if your other roo is actually a roo. if not the eggs wont be fertile anyway. would you be able to post a pic of the other suspected roo?
lol you posted a pic while i was writing.

The mesh makes is kinda hard to say for sure, but I'd say those are both hens. Have your in-laws heard any cock-a-doodle-dooing?

Haha well that's embarassing!!!

Thanks everyone, I think I've properly shown off how much of a city person I am

All I can say is welcome and I agree looks like a hen to me as well. Who knows though if they just got the birds and here are no roosters maybe they are fertile from previous. Like maybe whoever had them had a rooster. Could be fertile for up to three weeks.

Well if it makes you feel any better...the one in the second picture is a rooster.
