I've introduced 4 new chickens to my flock of 6...I have 2 coops face 2 face both with runs

1 of the new 4 is a rooster and other 9 are hens I put them all together today and for the most part got along but tonight they both went back to their own coops
 
Is one coop quite a bit bigger than the other coop? As you have nearly doubled the size of your flock.

It is normal for them to return to their original coop. If you have the space and just want them in one, close the other coop up. If it doesn't make a real difference to you, just leave it, and don't be surprised if eventually they do some trading around.

Thank you yes one coop is 3 times the size
 
How old are all these birds?
How big are the coops?
Is there a run?
Dimensions and pics would help here.
 
Birds are 6 months to 4 years 1 coop is 7'6" × 7'6" the other is 6' × '4yes runs they are open to each other...in total they are 15' long and 7'6" wide...in total 9 different varieties 1 rooster
 
Tonight 3 of my new chickens including the rooster went to main coop so I put the only one left with the rest...hope I did did the right thing?
