Ivermectin Dose for Chickens

Hi

I have one little 10ml bottle of ivermectin 1%, please tell me the doses for my bantams and light breed appenzellers as I am lost with all the different strengths etc.

Thanks :0)
The dose is .02 ml per 2.2 pounds. If you're trying to de-worm, with it, it's not very effective on poultry, fenbendazole (Safeguard or Panacur, liquid or paste) would be a better choice.

I used Ivermectin pour on and a few of my roosters are STILL doing the S motion shaking their heads. I didnt know about the repeat after 10 days. A few of them seemed like they never stopped shaking their heads and it ONLY is my roosters shaking their heads. I have not seen a hen do it not even once. I guess treat them all again and cross my fingers. Otherwise I am at a dead end and this remains a mystery.

What are you trying to treat?

Hi there, just wanted to point out the permethrin(ingredient in Seven) can be fatal for cats. I noticed you have a kitty on your pic and I recently learned about this so I sent the stuff I ordered back. I called the number to ask and the man explained that because cats can walk on the powder and lick paws it's not safe. They're system reacts to it. I was worried about chickens shaking it on ground and cat walking on it. Just thought I'd share.

Welcome to BYC!

The active ingredient in Sevin is carbaryl, not permethrin, but it's true that permethrin is toxic to cats.

Oh shoot, apologies! The stuff I ordered was Bonide not Seven. I thought they were the same. Thank you for clarifying. I'm still new to all of this stuff. Learning as I go. HA!
