I would use the permethrin spray if treating chickens. Easy, just go in at night grab them one by one and treat. Or, if it's just mites, you might be able to just spray them while they are on there perch.I've been reading through some old threads regarding using Ivermectin for mites. I've read 3-5 drops on the base of the neck for application. The only Ivermectin I'm familiar with is the paste I used to worm horses. Is this type of application referring to an injectable liquid? Are there any other topical treatments I could apply for mites? I'd rather not use the powder dusting method as I'm on my own for a week and that looks like a 2 person job.
Ivermectin can be used, but it should be given according to their weigh, not "x number of drops". Think about it... how big is a drop? is it 0.02 ml or is it 0.1 ml? all depends on your dropper, right?
