What type of Ivermectrin is best for depluming mites? I have elector PSP coming this Friday but others are saying that will not work. If Ivermectrin is better then which one (pour on or injectable which can be applied topically). I am concerned about using Ivermectrin as there is a 7 day egg withdrawal and dangerous to overdose and kill the chicken.

Thanks!

Holly, this is also my story. I have an order of a large bottle of Elector PSP coming and now I read it doesn't work for depluming mites- which I now suspect they have after reading these threads! Best place to buy Ivermectin? What do I buy, they only have it for cattle, etc not specifically chickens, so it is used "off label" for chickens. I need to know safe exact dose etc. So, do I buy the cattle Ivermectin "pour on?" Need help fast, they have a bad infestation.

Re Depluming mites, You can get Ivermectin (called "cattle pour on" - don't pour on- it is applied dropper back of neck) at Tractor Supply, I paid $27 there, but also Valleyvet.com where you can call and talk free to a Vet! which is very helpful. Repeat topical Ivermectin in 2 weeks and withdraw eggs for 30 days per the Vet.
