Ivomec in water.

This has been my experience with ivomec in water as well. I had a friend that swore that putting ivomec in water works and it wont seperate. Well one day she came over to prove me wrong and brought over a small glass vile and filled it about half way full with water and then added some ivomec and shook it and set it on the counter. Well everything looked good for a few minutes and then the ivomec started seperating from the water so she shook it again and sat it down and once again it seperated. Needless to say she now just squirts it in there mouth.

i [post a link to texas breeders on your other thread.

I got lucky. A lady called last night and is purchasing a Black Shoulder peahen, 2 Spalding chicks, 4 months old and the 3 day old chick. She has 3 hatching any day now so it will have companions. Thanks.

I'm so relieved. That little squirt wants me at it's side all the time. I get too attached....have to quit this nonsence! Need to not hatch and sell the eggs next year. Thanks much.

Regarding Ivermectin, I'm pretty sure I've read the 1% sterile solution injection for cattle and swine can be mixed in water. Is this not true? Thanks.

hi,there is a new product,out of australia,available here in the US,called S76,it is ivermectin,but water based!!
got it from a site, lady gouldian finch.

I don't know where you could find a day old peachick.
Could you get a day old turkey from a hatchery to raise with it?

I called around and all I can find are guinea or chicken chicks. Could go pick up a couple today but what about peafowl catching chicken diseases that kill peafowl? I hear and read that all the time.

I think that's a great question, about the chickens. I'll bet you'll get a lot of feedback, pro and con!

The reason I suggested turkey chick, was they're similar to peafowl in terms of health and susceptibility to disease, from what I've read. I hope someone with experience in this replies, there's a lot of knowledge out there, but it's hard to find!!

Ivomec is made to be used full strength not diluted in water if you put it in water you would have to put 50 to 75 ml per gal of water so the cost would be to much.
Gaza the S76 is made for small cage birds in order to make it strong enought for peafowl you would have to use 100ml to a gal of water that 30.00 per gal it would cost me around 1500.00 dollars to worm my birds one time. I have been catching my birds and ivomec them for years this is the only way to be sure they are getting the right dose. I just caught around 40 early 2011 hatch peas and ivomec them last weekend took around a hour. Ever breeder I know catches there birds to ivomec them look at Brad Legg he has 1000s of birds he will catch them one at a time and inject them with ivomec once or twice a year.
