Also love when the 2021 group is out before they see me. Meams that today is a warm enough day i dont need to worry.

However, one of the Italian Phoenix sisters is back in the house again with foot problems.
Your coop in the picture reminds me of a coop I built when I first started with chickens and ducks in my 20's. It was awful and unsafe. I lost 2 chickens during the winter freeze.

Not knowing how to care for them properly, I kept them for 2 years and gave up.

No internet or library where I lived at the time. So had no way to learn.

Can hardly tell they were 2 seperate groups just two days ago

We have plans to make it more comfortable next spring (plus there will be like 7 less birds in there by then). Main goal was seal up drafty cracks, add a wall and door (the front was just open before since it was originally a ram pen) and makesure the roofnwas stable. Unfortunately winter hit fast and hard this year so we could do more comfort yet

It actually looks like between 100 even and 102 (unsure exactly how many pheonix hens are in the feral flock).

Plus 10 quail and 1 BBW turkey tom. But this also includes birds that will not be here in spring due to selling, giving away or processing

My aunt has set our limit at 100…25 or so each year. We will be at 50 with our ordering, and have to get the barb fixed up a bit to add anything after that.

You must get so much enjoyment from all of your birds! Such a great variety!
