Jacin's Poultry 2022

My aunt has set our limit at 100…25 or so each year. We will be at 50 with our ordering, and have to get the barb fixed up a bit to add anything after that.

You must get so much enjoyment from all of your birds! Such a great variety!
I do enjoy them most of the time. When they're sick and during winter, its a bit less so and i get stressed easier. But i love how they all look different and act different.

Not sponsered, but I really wish it was.

I got a cloth kennel fron walmart and it's awesome. Nearly 2x the size of a cat carrier and it was 18 bucks. Now my bird has space to move around more than standing up and sitting down.

Little red Italian sister will be put dowm tomorrow. Her foot completely died, and theres no coming back from that. Her eyes are also swollen shut, which was not the case 7 hours ago. Not sure where that came from, as she has been isolated for a few days

The mosaic is doing okayish, praying his eyes are fine. Feet are still alive though, if not still swollen.

Roach also now has a swollen eye shut. Praying its nothing contagious.

The other Italian sister looks okay, and is still with the cochins, but now I'm very, very worried

Oh no! Were they all in the same pen? Do you think it’s weather related? I swear I’m paying attention but you have so many chickens I can’t remember who is with who…

The Italian sisters and Roach were all together in the red coop. When i brought the red one in due to frostbite. I moved roach and the other sister to the cochin pen where they wouldn't be bullied by as many birds (12 rotating out vs 2 that would stop the next day). Two days later, roach has swollen eyes and the frostbit sister does as well.

My fear is if its something contagious, A) I dont know where it popped up and B), i have now exposed most of my favorite, pet like birds to it because theu were in contact with Roach and the red sister less than a week ago. 4 of these birds are also getting up there in age, being at least 6 and one being at least 8

Roach is opening her eyes a crack. Shes having a hard time seeing though. She was dusted, as she was riddled with bugs. Clearly she was an easier meal than the bigger birds.

I remembered her sisters had problems with hydrocephily (sp?), nervous thats whats happening
