Thanks everyone for the responses. I did notice the eye that was swollen first is on the same side as the bloody spot on his comb. And the comb is hot. None of the other chickens look sick.
I looked through the links and symptom charts and diseases. The thing thata I noticed first was the swollen eye then the swollen face over the course of the day. His wattles are not swollen like it says for coryza; it is really more confusing the more I read. Each disease has a different treatment. I am trying a sulfa drug tonight and some garlic. I took his perch away
d.k. he already looks a bit loopy with the eyes. Is it safe to give chickens benadryl?
I keep waking him up and he is still "here" so
for the night through.
I gave him a little oatmeal with sour cream, which probably didnt help but at least I got him to eat something.
