Went to tuck the ladies in last night, after a VERY long day of working from home - 10 hours in front of a laptop and numerous calls from bossman.

THEY ESCAPED!

Free ranging through the downstairs bath.

The mess was ASTOUNDING.

They loudly proclaimed their innocence (I called BS on that nonsense), tried to pass the buck from hen to hen ... they may be organized. I thought I saw a Union card under one of their wings ...

Management is not. pleased.

DEAR GOD, All I want is for this coop and run project to be finished before my patience and mind leave on the next train.

toddlers don't poop everywhere and drop feathers ... at least, not that i remember ... more like having a bunch of nonogenarians ... with apologies to all incontinent nonogenarians. . .

yes, but weather here in early May is not conducive to that unless you have a heated coop. should have built the coop first. rookie mistake.

And a very common one. I too didn't have my coop built by the time I got my first chicks and had to scramble to get it done in the rain when we HAD to move the chicks out as we needed the bathroom they were in.
