James Marie Farms Bird Discussion.

Got confirmation my eggs shipped, expected arrival 4/18/15. So 24 hours for them to settle I will be putting them in the incubator sometime Sunday. I will post pics when they arrive.

Eggs arrived 2pm Saturday. Packed very well. Only looked at the top layer and did not see any broken ones. Going to set them at 2pm today.

This one is 1.5 inches long.

Wait so when I put up an order from JMF. I saw Robby's website of his quails and where you order them. But are sold separately by breed. Is there anyway you can ask him or talk to him about placing and order of any of the breeds he has? Like a mixed batch. And I notice that he has scarletts, Rosettas, Range, Range tuxedo, Italian and speckled Italian. How come those breeds are not in the egg selection? B/c I'm really hoping on getting some Speckled Italians, Tuxedos and manuchurian from him. Anyone know the problem?

Call the number on the web site..... Its forwarded to one of his cell phones..... Sometimes he cant answer, sometimes he can... keep try'n and you'll eventually talk to him. Eggs from most of his stock are spoken for months out and folks are willing to wait till their number comes up..... But it cant hurt to get in line..... Good luck....

How wide were they? I made an auto egg turner out of wood and I'm thinking the holes I bored out might not be wide enough.

I actually ordered his mix lot of silver, cream, lavender and charcoal. Eta couple weeks, and super excited.

So obviously James Marie Farms is top dog of the quail in the US. Its very well known. I wanted to start this page as a resource for information on all of his varieties of birds. I buy from Robby (Owner of JMF) weekly, So I will try to order every variety for a personal opinion.

I currently have in the incubator:

Golden Layer Hybrids Which is supposed to be a cross between golden speckled italian, regular italian, and manchurians. It is supposed to be an amazing eggs producer of very large eggs that are very uniform in color and pattern. I can say right now that they do lay very large eggs and they are all a beautiful marbled brown, not speckled like most coturnix eggs.

Texas A&M Most of you already know what and A&M is, but Robby's are supposed to be AMAZING. In about 2 weeks Ill be able to tell you their growth myself. I am very excited for these guys. They are also good layers of very big eggs, I guess "Big egg, big bird" Usually.

James Marie Pharaoh I am definitely going to be holding a flock of these birds back just from what I have heard from Robby. I have an inclination towards pharaohs because they are awesome birds that if they escape they dont stick out like a sore thumb to predators like other colors, and I have sexed some as early as 3 weeks old.

I will be updating this page with my personal experience with each bird and everyone elses experiences with them as well. I will also add more varieties to the list as I get the others.

This is only regarding JMF stock, not stock other than James marie. This is JMF direct ordered.
Hey I'm interested in the Golden Layer Hybrids, but they aren't listed on the website. Do I need to call to order those? Or are they not available... How was your experience with those hybrids?

(sorry, I do realize this is a moderately old thread)
