Jamesway 2940 Incubator

Does that have an automatic turner?

Im going to try to get pics of mine tonight, its beautiful! Even got a rhino lining like substance on the sides, to insulate and help it out.

:p

if you were able to find a very low rpm motor you could connect it via a cam system to turn the eggs but if you could post a pick of what the rods look like outside the incubator someone will figure out something cheap for you to modify its current condition so it will do what you want.

Have you ever seen the "real" Jamesway automatic turner? It is big, heavy and simply pushes every other rod in , while pulling out on the others. The Jamesway was made to connect a whole row of incubators on one turner. I have 7 Jamesway 2940's and one turner. An incubator without a turner is useless unless you build one.
I think if you wanted to manually pull and push the rods a couple times a day, you could do it. might take vise grips on each rod to hold it all the way out.

Does anyone have the original humidity water tray on their 2940 and willing to take a picture of it and how it's setup? I have a 2940 that was stripped of the fan and tray I'm rebuilding.

Hello everyone, i'm new to the forum. I have been reading it for a while now, but this is my first post!

I recently got a jamesway model 2940 incubator, it is about 6 foot tall and holds approx 2900 chicken eggs.

This incubator has metal rods that come out the side, when you pull them it turns the racks on the inside. I was looking around and a guy told me he can make a automatic turner for this incubator but it would cost me 700 bucks.

i was curious if anyone on here can come up with a simple solution, or has found a product that is able to to this already?

In the pictures below you can see the rods, that move when you pull or push on them, they turn the egg trays. on the end of each rod it is threaded. i believe there 7 16th rods but im not sure.

can anyone thing of a way to automate the pulling of all these rods?

i figured id hook them all together then have some sort of mechanisms to move them in and out.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

I too have a 2940 Jamesway I’m trying to get fixed up.
what did you end up doing? Any luck finding a manual?
