Jan 28th Hatch date. Anyone else?

I just candled again tonight, from the original 59 I set I am down to 30. Only one or two quitters, the rest were non-starters, or clear what ever you want to call them.

Thanks or the pointers on a turner for the incubator, never thought about a crank. I just about have the electrical work done. Hoping to get it fired up either tomorrow night or Friday. Should be ready for lockdown on Sunday.

Well the first part of our hatch is going slow. Have the 10 RIR in the turn-x and one hatched yesterday early am, just had the second one pop minutes ago and have another one that pipped. I hate when I get these drawn out hatches. We will have to see how the other 20 eggs do in the brower. Hopefully they will be a bit more consistant, they should hatch tomorrow, but I am not counting on it. Most of the eggs were going in the brower which is a temp control nightmare compared to the turn-x. We moved the RIR from the brower to the turn-x for hatching since they were set two days ahead of the rest and took the eggs from the turn-x and put them in the brower. This is going to be the first and last hatch for the brower, I will have the cabinet done for the next hatch, working on wiring right now.

I had a hatch due on the 28th. Out of ten eggs I had two clears. The rest went into lockdown, none hatched, I float tested them this morning, maybe one had movement (not sure they all looked the same). I opened them up and the first 7 had quit around day 14, the last one was still alive, i openned in the airsac and accidently nicked the membrane of the airsac and a blood vessel. I put it back in and ten minutes later it was still moving. Just went back and nudged it with a toothpick, it didnt move so I finished opening it up on, it is day 24/25, it was not facing the air sack and the entire yolk was still out.

I will try again though maybe my secong hatch attempt will be better.

Incubating eggs is always great when the hatch part goes well, it is very frustrating when you wait the three weeks and run into problems. I had the one hatch yesterday in the small incubator and none yet today, this is day 23 on that one. The other incubator had two pips last night, one of the two hatched overnight, still waiting on the other 18 in there. Started with 59 so I do not think I am going to hit my normal average of %60 on shipped eggs. Looks like 25% would be doing good this time around. :barnie

The third one in the small incubator hatched in the last hour, at this rate it is going to take another week for all of them to hatch. The other bator had one pop this morning and has two that have pipped, but on the wrong end. This is the part I hate the most, waiting and waiting....
