JAN 28th HATCH!!! Who's with me?!?

Well I saw MOVEMENT in one of my eggs tonite!!!! Candled for day 10 and saw moving...thought it was my eyesight but the kids saw it too. So excited!!! Had to toss one of the leghorn mix eggs because it had a definite blood ring and no growth but we've still got 6 in. A few are so dark shelled that all I can see is some faint veining and dark spots...so I'm anxiously waiting on them... But movement in the one is so GREAT!!!

Can you tell it's our first incubation?

Fantastic on the movement. I can't see a lot. I see some black, but I am not sure what I am looking for. I have decided I am trying to hard and candling too much. So, I am sitting on my hands and waiting till the weekend. In the mean time, I will continue to be excited for you and wait for more updates.

I have one chick partially out, two eggs with tapping noises and one egg chirping and another doing nothing yet. 5 eggs and only one has done anything other than make noise!

And I have to do this all over again on the 28th! Why do we torment ourselves?

One chick out. NEED HELP PLEASE! I can't find the post about how to help the chick with the hole in th abdomen. My first one out hase one. No stuff sticking out but it does have a hole.

Also another pip. This one out of an egg I didn't think was going to make it!!

You need to get that temp up to about 101.5 - 102.0 .... Still air needs to be about 2 degrees higher, unless you are going for a valentines day hatch... lol In that case, I would bump the temp up and wait to set them..... LOL

If an egg is seeping (or weeping, leaking, etc), it means there are tiny droplets on the egg.. They almost look as if there is "dew" on them... If your humidity is correct and you see an egg with little droplets on it, get a ziplock bag, open the bator, GENTLY get the egg and even more gently place it into the bag.. CLOSE IMMEDIATELY and discard!! The last thing you want is a bad egg to explode in your bator and infect the rest of the good eggs with bacteria and you definitely don't want it to explode on you, the walls, carpet, furniture, etc....

Wait until you see one rock and call one of your kids over to see it and it stops... You will begin to really think you've lost it because they tell you that you are seeing things.. The one rocks again and they were looking at the tv and missed it... And then it moves again but they were scratching an itch...
