I want to share some pictures! Here is my 3 Silkies from my first hatch..

First picture is dad, I am new to Silkies so please share your thoughts on him.. I don't know good or bad with them I am just learning. He has a silver collar, and emerald green tail flume, I have not seen a silkie like this so I don't know if that is good or bad.. . He is from a breeder that is into showing.





Sorry that it look so yellow they were still in the incubator, I didn't want to scare them with the flash..... did on one by mistake. ooops! .

I don't know anything about breed standards but I think your silkie boy is very handsome and his babies are beauties too.

Hey this is probably a dumb question...but...

I set my eggs the afternoon of January 15th

Do they go into lockdown Sunday Feb 2nd?

Thanks for asking this question Alibra. I am locking down same day you are, set my eggs same day also. Also another suggested mag lite mini- got one at Walmart this morning and it works great. Saw that two of my 8 shipped lavender orpington eggs are clear- disappointed, but 6 others look good. Also hatching mutt eggs for my neighbor- so have 17 in the Genesis Hovabator now. I am addicted to this, going to be hard one to break- all I want to do is search Ebay for hatching eggs!

Ok, I'm collecting Cream Legbar eggs for the next ten days. After a very stressful last week, I've forgotten how to store my soon to incubate eggs...pointy end DOWN, yes? It's only our second hatch, so I'll try to remember this time.

I also put mine into lockdown and discarded an egg that I thought had died. Good thing I did, because I looked inside and found that I was right. I don't want to chance anything exploding during lockdown!

Getting nervous 24 eggs going into lock down today. have my rhodebar eggs going into lockdown on sat. all 24 looked good to me and only two of the rhodebars look good, now trying to decide do I hatch them in a carton or lay them down? Picking up another dozen eggs to hatch on saturday and have three dozen that i put in the bator on sat. this is bad very very bad. lol.
