Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

baby faverolle getting some snuggles with her 'blanket' aka hand towel (there is a heating pad underneath the towel, she loves it)

she is a faverolle, so she has 2 extra toes similar to a silkie. those toes look good. but her outside toe on each foot is folded under. she is just less than 1 day old.
I hope it corrects itself, otherwise she will be getting some chick sandals!

use bandaids to make boots right now while she's young...it'll help...I had one hatch with fused outer toes..HE'S doing fine

What is dry-method incubating? Is it better than normal incubating?

Used to be, folks thought that dry incubation, meant, dry! No, it's a lower humidity. People were incubating at 55 percent humidity years ago. Now most folks go with the mid 30's, low 40's. I have learned, if you go too low in humidity, you get deformed head/eyes..and missing toes. I always thought it was because of wrong temps. Have been doing a lot of reading...it's humidity..too low! Keep it steady in the 30's to 40's instead of the 50's, and all seems to go much better.

the power went out this morning the the temp in my incubator went down to 82 this is my first batch ever and i hope they're ok
