Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

Well I won't bother her she has eight eggs but one is six days behind so I may give that to the other broody. So she doesn't waste her time on porous eggs.

You will have to give it to another broody because she will leave that egg to take care of her newly hatched babies.

Im just so worried second time with a broody, but this time I'm paying full attention. Do you think I killed the babies I candled.[/quote

Of course not. They are highly residents. I didn't understand that the eggs were from a broody. I thought it was in a bator. Lol. last night I thought I had killed mine.15 days now.
The temperature was at 104.5. But I candle a few and they are moving in there. To my relief.

That is so darn cute! I got a chuckle this morning..needed that. Have you shared this on a turkey thread? They would love it!
I haven't found mant threads besides this one where people are friendly. I have asked a few questions on turkey threads. Usually no answer. They would probably scold me for giving Max people vitamins. But I figure he needs something to make up for the ice cream and Taco Bell.

this spring I will be breeding my phoenix, buff laced brahma's, gold laced polish, blue orpingtons, ameraucana's and araucana's

we will be starting the breeding(housing) pens when this next rain passes....so exciting!! I love my birds
I have just started my new pens. I work on them when I'm waiting for something to dry on my new ccoop. I was so excited to find the lumber at 70% off.

Yeah ironically on day 17 our other silkie went broody.
The new broody might not accept the chick she hatches since she's only been broody a few days. Watch closely how she treats it. I've had them peck them to death if they weren't broody for at least 2 weeks.

Max story of the day.
I left Max at home today when I went to work. I only had to work a few hours and I wanted to concentrate. End of the year tax stuff. I missed him so much that I came home first to get him before going to Home Depot (we have a froze burst pipe to replace). It was getting dark but it was nice today so I opened the car window. Max stuck his head out the whole way there. So funny watching his waddle flap in the wind. He was just like a dog. I tried to get a video but the light hurt his eyes. I will try again when It's daylight. As always, his public was happy to see him. He strutted for everyone for a long time. He even puffed back up after I put him in the cart. Like he was the king. Standing in the cart, tail fanned, feathers fluffed. He even tilts his tail back and forth like the royal wave.
