they don't move much around day 18....resting up
I hatch mine laying flat so they have freedom...but you do have to be watching like it's a tv program to witness the movement lol...which I do!! so I see it...some never see it!And by moving I mean the eggs a rocking lol
Well I was excited about lockdown but then my Barnyard mixes weren't moving the last time I candled them I will post some day 18 candeling pics see what everyone thinks, I asked opinions on whether to lay them down for hatch of put in the cardboard cartons there are no detached air cells but unless I missed it I didn't get any response. so I left them in cartons I knew the rhodebars should stay in cartons they wer shipped an the two that look viable have saddle air sacks. for a brooder I am going to just use a large cardboard box (I have an unlimited supply of 18" by 48" by 18" deep boxes?going to put shavings in the bottom of the box. I have a very powerful shop light on a tripod stand that puts out a lot of heat I am going to use I believe it will be safer then a hanging heat lamp so it is not that I am nervous about that just feel like If I set it all up I will not have any live hatches.
How do I know of I have good humidity if I don't have a humidity checker?
Would it make you feel more confident to post what you are doing for feedback...............
And the first few times, I was nervous about everything...............![]()
And I still pace during lockdown............and clean house like crazy....................![]()
You'll be fine........................good luck
I don't start the brooder until I see the first pip. I do the same, think I am jinxing myself otherwise.

When my DH or the kids don't see me, they run to the closet where I have my incubator. Lol 90% of the time I'm there. Jajaja
I still check the incubator every couple hours even though I am still on day 19. Thinking I can actually do something to make it go faster.
