Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

Yea probably was too high, I will get a better meter for next time. The one I ordered from ebay wasn't any good. My hatch went really well tho 3 very healthy silkie babies. And their still ALIVE! Yea!,!!!.

Do older eggs develop more slowly? Most of my eggs (day 17) look pretty full. I've got one with a little white down at the skinny end. It's the oldest egg in the bator...it was at 12 days when I set it.

We've got a bunch of eggs rocking and I can hear little taps, woohoo!

Well everything looks so exciting on here what with all these chicks hatching.
I am day 16 - still the eggs feel a little hevier than they used to but I don;t think the temp was up enough. We will see what happens. I am just going with the flow. No stress this time round - no second monitors for humidity or temp. They never helped in the least before.

So I am looking forward to lockdown and the big ol' waiting game. So it will hopefully kick off at the weekend here. With a bit of luck!

Oes - Great to see others with chicks.

Disaster struck over night.....the bulb on my incubator blew out. The temps went way down to 75 and humidity to 68. Darn, and I was so close to lockdown too.

They should be fine. Just get them warmed back up & continue on. I just hatched 3 batches in a staggered hatch that lost power at leadt 4 times & got to 55°F or lower at least twice.

Don't give up! ! Get them up to the right temp and let them rest for a while. Then maybe later on, candle them and look for movement. What day are you on?
I was on day 11 when disaster struck my day incubator. The table leg broke and the'bator fell, killing half of my eggs. I have 3 that are supposed to hatch today and in the next couple days. These were ones that were still alive after the bad fall they took. One even cracked and I am expecting it to hatch. :)
