Jan./Feb. 2014 hatch a long

I had to run into work so have my mother babysitting after a long list of what she was allowed to do and not allowed to do...lol.

She just called and updated. Silkie is actively moving around the bator with the hatched d'uccle.

I have baby vitimans (no iron) on stand by.

when it's time to remove the electrical tape OR band-aid, you can use baby oil on a q-tip to gently unstick it (so you don't rip it away from the chick's leg/foot). clean off the baby oil with hand sanitizer so the new band-aid will stick to it.
VetRap is nice because it sticks to itself and doesn't have this problem

I use bandaids I cut to fit....they never last once they start moving around a lot but if you can keep replacing it and have it wear one for several days at least until the toes don't curl under it's little foot when it begins roosting it straights out the toes very nicely

Well, 9 or 10 more days for me until hatch. I'm so excited about it and trying not to over think this. I have candled and pulled the few clear eggs and a couple that looked like ringed eggs but still have lots of good eggs in the incubator. Only three of my silkie eggs are hanging in there though. The rest are my Barnevelders and I can't wait to see how this hatch goes!

11 days left until my seven so-so packaged shipped eggs hatch. I candled, pretty sure one is a dud, one was definitely a dud and got tossed, but was filled with VERY thin liquid. A couple seem to have saddle cells. Not really sure what will/wont hatch. I think I had the humidity too high for most of the incubation so I'm letting the humidity levels fall for now until lockdown. I followed the manufacturers instructions on my Brinsea Mini Adv, but I still think it was too humid.

what breeds?

400

The egg on left is 2 hours in. The one on right is two days in. Is it even developing? (It's defiantly fertile. The egg I cracked after it was fertile.)
