Well guys since mine arent do till the 19 of february here are some pics of the soon to be parents
This is dad. Light splash silkie roo
On the right I have one egg from her, a white silkie showgirl.
Last but not least my broody partridge silkie! I have two eggs from her. So in total there are three eggs under her and all from the same rooster. Oh and they are all around nine months old.
Ok so I'm in again... Just set 39 barnyard mutts and 3 welsummers (sp).... haven't added water yet, waiting for the incubator to stabilize and see where its at.. I've heard such great things about doing a dry hatch but I am alittle afraid to do it right now.. I need some chicks to replace a few of my older hens and to be layers through next winter... after this hatch I may do a test hatch and do it dry to see how it does..
But in the meantimeThe long wait and stress begins again!!!![]()
Ok so I need help!!! I started eggtopsying my eggs and found one chick that is alive but very much shrink wrapped it can not get in the right position but is still alive it still has blood sells in its membrane but yolk appears to have been completely absorbed what can I do for it? I can not see its head near the air sack nor can I see its feet but the belly is right there and bulging from the absorbed Yolk,
Hi there! I'm confused as to what this rooster is. I got him and his hen on Saturday. They told me that they were both Araucanas, but then someone on here said that my hen is an EE. So I am completely lost. I've tried to do some researchers, but it seems like Araucanas, Americaunas, and EEs look the same to me. My roo, Arlo has a very nice black beard. I'll have to see if I can get a nice close up of him tomorrow.I have a rooster that looks just like your avatar. What breed is he?
I take mine out of the carton at lock down. Mine fight so hard to get out, then fall back in and get glued to the shell.
Take a warm damp paper towel and wrap it around the egg and put it back in the incubator. The humidity should help get moist. I don't know if you can assist it or not with the blood cells. Let me see if I can find the article on assisted hatching..Ok so I need help!!! Is there a way to put a warm barely damp cloth around the bottom to soften the membrane? Is it in the shell out out of the shell and in the membrane?
