Janoel8-48 Humidity ?s

I realized the typo after the fact! I will definitely get a hygrometer, getting one from the pet store today.

I will try and old the reset button and see if the motor is even trying to move or not.

Thanks!

Ah. Sorry. I didn't know the Janoels were built that way. My LG turners have the motor screwed on with a couple of small sheet metal screws. Are the linkages between the first and second rail removable?
No again :(

I will check and see if the linkages are removable, but I don't think they are. They are little plastic arms that hold the egg tray to the arm that moves them.

I ran some tests last night.

With no water in the unit, the humidity ranged from 10-15%

1 channel filled with water, the humidity ranged from 29-32%

Both channels filled with water, the humidity ranged from 30-32%

I had the incubator in my basement, so maybe I'll move it to the first floor and see if that makes a difference.  If that doesn't work, I'll try the sponge/water method and see if that will raise my humidity.

Just want to make sure my unit is doing what it is supposed to do before I start hatching eggs.

BTW I now have an automatic egg turner problem!  As in, it doesn't work.  It won't move at all, even if I try to move it by hand.  It seems as though the motor is locked up.
did you happen to ever get another hygrometer? these levels just seems crazy to me with That much water. and if you did get one did you calibrate it?

I haven't gotten a hygrometer yet.

The pet store that I stopped at today didn't have a digital one.

So i'll stop by another one tomorrow maybe.
I would advise you to get one that's not digital. Well at least one so you can calibrate it ok. I have 2 that aren't digital and they tend to have better accuracy. (Not trying to tell you what to do just what works for myself better )

Great idea.

I'll stop by one of the chain pet stores tomorrow, hopefully they will have both types.
if you need help calibrating the non digital one I'll be more than Happy to help

That would be great!

I am going back to the pet store near the office tomorrow on my lunch break and get the non-digital one.

Hopefully on Thursday I can find a digital one.

I would love some help calibrating it, no clue where to start.
