JANUARY 2015 Hatch-A-Long

Mine have taken over the dining room, laundry, brooder room and now upstairs...can't wait til it gets nice out and they can move to the barn... It's negative 8 out....

Brrr thats so cold, almost beyond what I can imagine! Im hoping to keep the mess and noise nice and contained, and the babies safe and warm. Still waiting on any peep or pip here, day 20 EE mixes.

They all decided to hatch today. Now I am pending my duck eggs! Woohoo!

January hatch #3 underway here.. First pip was at 1pm yesterday (day 21), dead-center on the side of the egg. BUT, it's very active this morning and from the looks of the membrane everything has absorbed. So now it just has to figure out what to so from here..

Three others had pipped so far. All my hatches have been very small so far, this is one of the smallest with just four EE cross and two BLRW.

Although I totally don't count the BLRW because I have YET to have one make it to hatch. These I considered not even locking down but they were still moving so.. Either way I refuse to count them against my rate when all is said and done.

Car....Congrats on your pips! Hopefully, the malpositioned chick can figure out how to hatch... Then comes the quandry...Assist or not assist?
