I have been trying to get my EE to come out of their house. I even shoveled their run down to the straw...no luck! And it's a high of 35!

I need to candle about 35 eggs... But, I am nervous! Should be day 10 for them.

My hatch results:

7 eggs set

3 not fertile
3 hatched
1 late quitter

Not great results but am thrilled with the healthy babies I have! Can't wait to try again.

Oh wow, I sure hope they do well for you then. I'm a little bummed about mine. My brother-in-law brought me a batch up over a week ago. What I didn't realize was that his silkies aren't pure. Just about everything I own is a mix was hoping to get some pure started.

Day 14 for me tomorrow so I can candle again
Had a quick look on day 9 and all 14 were still good. Movement in all eggs :yiipchick

Praying all is still good tomorrow as my air sacs didn't look big enough so turned the humidity down for a couple of days, hope that's done the trick

@chicken...I want to start breeding them soon. I have some beautiful silkies that are 3-4 months old now. White, black, blue, and some sizzles too!

Hi Purple! Thankyou, how are you getting along with the Brinsea cabinet? I have a friend who wants to sell his, quite cheap too but he is very hap hazard in how he does things and I really don't think he will have looked after it well. Maybe I would be better buying a new one? Pros and cons with it?

Whelp sad but the silkies didn't hatch
Had eggtopsied one looks to have quit about time of lockdown.
I've found a neighbor with a nice mix of silkies, so I'll try once more with eggs that haven't gone thru the postal system.

All in all we hatched 10/15
All our ee's are doing great. Of course the girls have already picked 2 favorites
