JANUARY 2015 Hatch-A-Long

700

Had to share these little beeswax candles I received from my "chicken hating" teen. Very thoughtful.

Got 7 in the mini advance right now -- hoping a few will take!
We are on Day 4: should I wait to candle?

I have to admit, as first timers, we candled these eggs almost everyday to check development, they change so fast those first 2 weeks! It was awesome to watch but I have read not to mess with them that much. I am a worrywort meddle mom so I was pretty hands on.... Its pretty definitive at a week who is growing and who isnt , good luck

dry hatch until the end then at first pip toss in paper towels. currently I do have a little water in incubator, because it's winter and we live in a dry cold climate. but I can feel moisture in incubator when i turn and here is how they look when hatched moist enough.

Really great seeing success with different hatchers and techniques!
