how's your hatch going? Can't wait to see pics!
It does doesn't it. I have 12 to hatch next week and I have 12 to put in other incubator tomorrow. Good luck with your hatch. Plus I have 4 wk & 2 wk old chicks bouncing around, lol.So cool reading about and seeing all of your chicks hatching, just set mine today so I will be seeing the pips and zips too before I know it but it feels like so long to wait!

Good luck with your hatch. It does seem like it will take forever so make sure you have things to keep you busy so the time will go by quickly. It is so rewarding after the 3 week wait though!!So cool reading about and seeing all of your chicks hatching, just set mine today so I will be seeing the pips and zips too before I know it but it feels like so long to wait!
I have that kind of liner in mine right now (cream colored) and I had some in there with my first hatch and it definitely helped make clean up easier. I'd say give it a try, it definitely won't hurt anything! Good luck with your hatches.Question: I have a hatch baking for 2/1, and then another for 2/4 (oops) but I only have one hatcher. And have other eggs coming along behind so that puts me out for making both bators a hatcher.
That being said, I want to keep the bator as sanitary as possible for those several days of hatching, mainly because the 2/4 one is a "high value" hatch of shipped eggs.![]()
So my question is, it IS okay to put this cabinet liner on top of my screen, right? This kind:
I'm thinking I can put the first round on this stuff... Put the second round in when it's time.. And then in between hatches I can take out the liner and have a clean screen/water underneath? That's the perfect-world version anyway..
wAlright I think I am ending the day with.... wait for it.... 17 hatched chicks out of my 22 eggs! Holy cow! 3 eggs haven't done anything and 2 have pipped however 1 pipped yesterday morning and hasn't done a single thing since so I think it may have died at some point and the 2nd one pipped yesterday evening, I believe it's still alive though so maybe it'll hatch before I go to bed. I am so incredibly happy with these results and even if the other 5 don't make it out I know I did everything I could and needed to in order to get them to hatch this time around! But I am not giving up hope on those eggs yet because hatch day doesn't even technically start until 11:20pm tonight! I'm thinking the temp spike I had while I was in the hospital sped up the growth of these chicks, I know it's not unusual to have a few early chicks but to have 17 early birds I think the temp must have contributed to that. I still can't believe I have 17 chicks in my incubator!!
How's your hatch going Purpletie3??
