I just set 34 Lavender Orphington and 6 EE eggs today, very cold here in Rhode Island but i am too anxious to wait, hoping for the best,

I have 2 lavender roosters and 11 hens, they are 9 months old, so a little young but i get 7 to 9 eggs a day so i thought i would take a chance.

I only have one BCM pullet right now, (i have a knack for hatching cockerels it seems) and she is very docile. Her name is Maryanne (Gilligan's Island themed group).

Lockdown! I have eggs from several barnyard mixes and decided to set up a corral so I know which chick came from which set of eggs. I plan to use a small dab of nail polish to mark them when I move them to the brooder. I am excited!

my Silkie hen went broody earlier this week, so I might have more than one hatch this month!!
Only problem, it is below freezing outside, about 20. And her nest isn't fully enclosed- will she be okay until it warms up again? She did get up for fresh water when I went out and fed and watered.
