January Hatch-a-long 2018

I love my bantams. I've got my seramas as well as a bunch of silkies. I have a couple egg layers but I still get a lot of little eggs.

Awesome! Can't wait to see how they turn out. My friend wanted to try her hand at hatching chicks, but can't keep them, so I ended up giving the dozen serama eggs to her and lending her an incubator. She's going to put them in tonight! I'll take them back after they hatch.

It's nice to have a surrogate momma!

Yep! She loves baby chicks, but can't have chickens in her area.

goal is to get my calls to lay eggs in winter and have my BO hen go broody again so I can have some ducklings!

Ducklings are the cutest! I actually have a potential duckling in my incubator right now...it was supposed to be a silkie, but I think the breeder may have accidentally given me a call duck egg instead! It's hatching around Wednesday.

The only ones I think may not be fertile are the Tan upper one, and the white upper one. The light green in the center is a yes, I cannot see into the gray center eggs, so I will assume they are fertile, The dark brown ones are also hard to see into. but most of the small eggs got something going on.

I've just ordered a dozen cream legbar eggs that I will set in the incubator on January 4th or 5th. Having just moved back to my hometown, these will hopefully be the beginning of my new flock. I'll post pics of my set up closer to time.

I am getting an incubator for xmas so excited to start hatching eggs. My husband is on board if the Mille fleurs are in the first batch lol.
