I suppose, for me, it depends what I'm measuring. If I am measuring the success of my bator/hatching method I will only use number regarding fertile eggs. If I am measuring the health of my flock then I will use the entire batch (including infertile) .... but I'm not a big time breeder by any stretch of the imagination, just an overly-obsessed-chicken/goat-lady - LOL!!! Def go with UThobbyfarmer's response/advice - they are much more informed than I am. That was just my 5c worth
