Started lockdown in my Bob eggs yesterday.

Had a 3 hour power outage today.

Hopefully new babies by wed.

Here's my final tally for the month:
6 CCL
1 silkie

20% hatch rate on first hatch
50% on second.

And I have four duck eggs going into lockdown on Wednesday.

My 1st time broody "Blue" is a real champ & enjoyed a slice of apple today as a reward. 2 strong chicks have hatched today, 2 or 3 more to go I hope. The broody has had a great experience & is the envy of the flock; I too am enjoying & amazed at the wonder of nature with the way their instincts kick in to set, hatch & nurture. Happy hatching all, there's one more day left in January, tomorrow the 30th.

In planning my hatch, I checked out what chicks would be available & when at my local grange co-op, just in case I had to plan on getting some company for a lonely chick. Best wishes.
