I have a pip!!

Last night before I went to bed I did one more check on the bator and thought I heard cheeping but it was only once so I wasn’t sure. I stood there for a while looking at the eggs and saw one wiggling all over the place in the carton. I got up at 4 this morning to check (I just couldn’t wait 2 more long hours for my alarm to go off). I didn’t see anything so I went back to bed. Then after my alarm did go off I went down as soon as I got my kids up to get ready for school…. And the wiggler from the night before had pipped!! I hope to have a chick when I get home from work, this is going to be a long day. It pipped at 20.5 days.

Now I have to wait until I get home to see if I have a chick or if any of the other 25 silkies have pipped.

I just candeled the two I had in lockdown and neither one of them made it. It looks like they quit when I put them in at day 18.
I have a few more going into lockdown tomorrow. I hope I have better luck with them.
