Im with ya!

I just put 15 BLRW eggs I got off of eggbid.com in today. This is my first time. I'm hoping I'll at least get 2 or more (all wouldbe great!) to hatch. Due on the 29th. I also have a broody sitting on two Cuckoo Maran eggs that my hen laid. So hopfully soon we all will be getting Joyful Fluff balls soon. I can't wait. Wish I could count my chickens before they hatched.

HAPPY HATCHING TO EVERYONE!

Where'd you get your light Sussex eggs? I just tried 10 eggs and got two chicks. We had a power outage though. Four hatched, two who had difficult hatches and died after two days and the too little guys in my brooder. Good luck to you!

Here's my current hatch so far:

Still wet in the hatcher, along with more pipping eggs -- they're not due until tomorrow.

six dry chicks -- 3 are bantams (the dark ones), a Dark Brahma Bantam over a mixed breed crested polish type bantam, and 3 are standards, a something over a red sex link baby, a Light Brahma (LF) baby, and a yellow chick, also a mixed breed.

Isn't this fun!

ETA the light brahma is the one with the big foot sticking out toward the camera!

I thought so. I was watching those eggs to see what happened with them. Good luck to you. The little chicks are a hoot and like the older ones outside they are a little dimwitted. I have been trying to teach them to use a rabbit type waterer to no avail. Wherever you brood them make sure you cover the brooder with screen. Once they figure out they have wings they like to use them. These two numbnuts are flying back and forth across the brooder. They were also the youngest chicks I ever had roost so put a pole in there for them.

I'll be interested in what you end up with. Good Luck!

i'll be sure to post pics once they hatch. i'm going to put them in the smaller coop 4x4 once they are about a week old and once i convert it into more of a brooder, so they can have room to fly and roost once they figure it out. the older ee's (5weeks) will go from there into the new coop i'm building.
