I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you.

If you get 42 of 42 (or even 37 of 42 for that matter) you will truly deserve the "flockmaster" title! Me, I'm just watching the incubator. Its become a major attraction at my house. Its located in the living room/kitchen area and every time one of us walks through the room we have to go and stare into the incubator for a minute or two. Hopefully in a few days we'll see a baby chicken staring back at us!

Hope everyone has good luck on thier hatches. My FBCM eggs are due on Jan. 18th. Last night I smelled something bad coming from the bater...it was one of the eggs. I had to systematically smell each one until I found it ...Gross!!! So now I'm down to 12 on those. Had to quickly wash out the bator while dh tended the eggs to make sure that smell was out lol.

but I think there is a problem, when I candled I didn't see anything......

Temps are steady, humidity seems to be a bit low...But I am awaiting a new Hydrometer.

I locked down this morning! Five Ameraucanas and 6 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes! It is so nice and quiet here in my office without the sound of the turner! I just have the hum of the incubator and the occasional whirr of the humidity pump. Oh, and of course the noise from these two! These are the light Sussex from my New Year's hatch. They are getting BIG. Yesterday I forgot and left the brooder sliding door open and the big one jumped down and casually strolled over to my desk. Little do they know, their days in the indoor brooder are numbered. I need it for the ones on lockdown and, in case you hadn't heard, Light Sussex are the stinkiest chickens on the planet! I have no idea why, but they are.

Ok so random question cause I'm an idiot. If my hatch date is the 18th. What would be my lock down date? And what should humidity be at?

It would be the 15th. My incubator recommends humidity at 65% for the last three days.

Thank you so much.
Now I have to figure out how I'm going to manage getting the humidity that high.

Ps. I love that picture! Too cute and funny.
