If you get 42 of 42 (or even 37 of 42 for that matter) you will truly deserve the "flockmaster" title! Me, I'm just watching the incubator. Its become a major attraction at my house. Its located in the living room/kitchen area and every time one of us walks through the room we have to go and stare into the incubator for a minute or two. Hopefully in a few days we'll see a baby chicken staring back at us!

I was darn shocked when I candled. I will be moving 3 into lockdown tommorow night wish them luck

Well! My hatches for January are getting complicateder and complicateder! I have a cochin that just decided to go broody -- she's got 6 eggs. I had an RIR go broody under the chicken house on New Year's Day and since it was 12 degrees here, we hauled her out (at great personal effort!) and put her in a warmer place, but she decided she wasn't all that broody anyway -- so we took her eggs and put them in the Sportsman. Tonight's candling shows at least 4/6 growing! And then there's the batch due to go into lockdown on the 16th, and the batch due to go into lockdown on the 18th (Dominiques), and then there's the batch we set last week.....Oh, and the 13 already hatched... What fun it is to hatch chicks! I'm happy for you all.

What do you do with all the chickens if you're always hatching??? sell them maybe? I'd love to be hatching all the time but I'd get so overrun with chickens
